In
Mary, We Entrust You with the Cause of Life (Evangelium Vitae, # 105)
Introduction In his encyclical Evangelium Vitae,
Pope John Paul II writes: "Filled with this certainty, and moved by profound
concern for the destiny of every man and woman, I repeat what I said to
those families who carry out their challenging mission amid so many difficulties:
a great prayer for life is urgently needed, a prayer which will rise up
throughout the world."
The
congress, "Mary, We Entrust You with the Cause of Life", which will take
place in Fatima, Portugal, from Wednesday, October 4 until Sunday, October
8, aims primarily at following seriously the wishes of our former beloved
Holy Father, Pope John Paul II, by calling the Faithful to remember it
and, at the same time, to be generous in their deeds. The conference organizers
hope, through their commitment to the Culture of Life, to supporting also
the pastoral effort of our present Holy Father, Pope Benedict XVI, who
plans to attend the World Gathering of Families in Spain, in July 2006,
and in whose encyclical "Deus caritas est" has entrusted to the hearts
of all the Faithful the following message:
"The program of Christians - the program of the
Good Samaritan, the program of Jesus - is the 'seeing heart'. This heart
sees where love is needed and acts accordingly" (nº 31b).

Program
The main program of the Fatima Congress begins on Wednesday, October 4,
2006, and ends in the afternoon of Sunday, October 8, 2006. It is at the
same time a spiritual retreat in the light of the Message of Fatima:

Prayer
Offering
Consecration
Sending Forth
We wish to respond to and fulfill Pope John Paul II's desire for a "great
prayer for life which is urgently needed". The main goals of the congress
will be developed through further presentations.
